Sunday Worship Service Every Sunday

During our season, we will be having church services at 9:30 am every Sunday in our Recreation Hall.  Coffee, juice and doughnuts will be provided.  Come and join us!

Fire on the Mountain Blacksmith Festival April 24
Spruce Pine - Located on Lower St., Downtown Spruce Pine, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Live demonstrations, hands on tent to try your own blacksmithing, food vendors.
Memorial Day - Back Then Band May 29
Bear Den - Dance to country music at 7:00pm in the Recreational Hall. Back Then Band - 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music at 7:00 pm in the Recreation Hall.
Happenings at Altapass Apple Orchard  

Beginning Memorial Day weekend the Altapass Apple Orchard has Free music every weekend, storytelling hayrides (fee).

Toe River Studio Tour June 11-13
Spruce Pine and surrounding area - Artists open their studio doors and welcome the public. TRAC Center Gallery, located at 269 Oak Avenue, Spruce Pine has maps.
NC Rhododendron Festival June 18-19
Bakersville, NC - For over sixty years, locals and visitors have celebrated the blooming of the rhododendron on Roan Mountain with this festival in Downtown Bakersville. Featuring an arts & crafts show, "ducky derby," antique car show, street dance, and pageant.
July 4th Weekend July 2-4
Bear Den - Show your patriotism by decorating your site. One night’s free camping and a T-Shirt for the winner.
Annual 4th of July BBQ and Fireworks July 3
Spruce Pine - Enjoy fresh cooked BBQ and fireworks in downtown Spruce Pine and The Last Resort Band - rock, country, beach, blues, oldies, and funk music at 7:00 pm in the Recreation hall.
Grandfather Homes Highland Games July 8-11
Grandfather Mountain - Brawny athletes, delicate dancers, noisy bagpipe band parades, rocking Celtic music and a spectacular highland setting makes this colorful celebration of Scottish culture the best highland games in America. Admission Charged.
Toe River Story Telling Festival July 17
Spruce Pine - Located at Riverside Park, Spruce Pine, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Admission: $10.00 children 9 and under free. Food available.
NC Mineral and Gem Festival July 29 - Aug 1
Spruce Pine NC - Celebrating over 50 years of opening nature's treasure chest. Retail show with real mine tours, gem faceting demonstrations and historic mining exhibits.

Overmountain Victory Celebration Sep 16-19
Spruce Pine - Annual re-enactment of the march on route to King's Mountain, the site of the battle often called the turning point in the Revolutionary War.
Bakersville Creek Walk Art Festival Sep 18
Bakersville - Juried fine arts show drawing artists from around the region. Downtown Bakersville.
Mineral City Heritage Festival Oct 9
Spruce Pine - Downtown Spruce Pine. Featuring vendors with traditional crafts and foods, an antique tractor show, local authors, and music. 10 am - 4 pm.
Spruce Pine Potters Market Oct 9-10
Spruce Pine - A gathering of our region's greatest potters and clay artists. Come enjoy wonderful food and beautiful handmade pottery at the historic Cross Street Building in Spruce Pine.
Trick or Treating Oct 29
Bear Den - Turn on the outside lights and dress the kids up for trick or treating from 8:00pm-9:00pm.
Halloween Oct 29 - Nov 1
Bear Den - Decorate your camper, tent, cabin, and site for Halloween. One night free camping and a T-Shirt for the winner.
Annual Hayride Oct 30
Bear Den - Kids rides begin at 5pm, adults will follow. Registered guest trips will be $3 for adults and $1 for kids under 12. All others, $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Back Then Band -50’s, 60’s and 70’s music at 7:00 pm in the Recreation Hall.
Christmas Tree Packages Nov 13 – Dec 21
Bear Den - Choose and Cut Packages available for all rentals. One price pays rental and your trip to "Sugar Plum Farm", where you will choose and cut a Fraser Fir Tree for the Holiday Season.
